Jared is a Gates Millennium Scholar and also received a NSF graduate research fellowship. He is currently a first-year Ph.D. student, having graduated from Kalamazoo College (’15) with a B.A. in Biology. After graduation, he spent a year in Kenya working as a Research Assistant for the Michigan State University Mara Hyena Project (Dr. Kay Holekamp) studying the behavior and ecology of spotted hyenas in the Masai Mara. Now a member of Dr. Mann’s lab, he is hoping to investigate the development of social and sexual behaviors in the Shark Bay dolphin population.
